Todd M. Hooker has extensive experience in complex tort, environmental and business litigation matters, as well as all facets of family law, including custody matters, alimony, child support, equitable distribution, domestic violence and pre-nuptial agreements. Mr. Hooker’s practice also covers estate planning and personal injury litigation.

Environmental Law & Litigation

In environmental cases, Mr. Hooker has represented a wide variety of semiconductor, chemical and pharmaceutical companies in matters pending in state and federal court and before administrative agencies throughout the United States. He has experience in the defense of complex multi-party litigation, and has directed the medical causation defense in a mass tort case where various forms of cancer from exposure to hazardous substances were alleged.

Mr. Hooker served as a Vice Chair of the Environmental Litigation and Toxic Tort Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Energy, Environment, and Resources, and has also served as a visiting lecturer at the Rutgers University School of Law - Newark, teaching a seminar on Toxic Torts. Mr. Hooker has published and been a speaker and panelist on matters relating to toxic tort, environmental and occupational safety and health law.

Family Law

Mr. Hooker’s experience in the family law arena is in both the trial and settlement of divorce cases. He has extensive experience in cases involving custody and divorce cases involving equitable distribution of businesses, real estate, stock, stock options, retirement plans and other complex financial issues.

Mr. Hooker frequently appears in court in all the northern counties of New Jersey including Sussex, Warren, Morris, Essex, and Passaic, counties. He has also appeared in New Jersey’s central counties, including Hunterdon and Mercer County.

Business Litigation

Mr. Hooker has represented a wide array of businesses in civil litigation in both state and federal court. Recently, he represented a Sussex County business in a broker fee dispute arising out of a commercial property transaction, and another local business in a tortious interference with contract claim. In federal court, he successfully pursued a claim on behalf of a manufacturer against a vendor for supplying defective materials used in the manufacturing process. Mr. Hooker also represents corporate policyholders seeking insurance coverage for a wide variety of claims.

Prior to entering law school, Mr. Hooker served in the United States Army from 1988 to 1995. He served as an infantry paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and is a veteran of the first Gulf War.
