New Jersey State Police investigate fatal car accident on I-295

On April 26 around 8:30 a.m., a collision occurred in East Greenwich in which two 22-year-old women were killed. The driver of one vehicle is one of the deceased; she was a resident of Pennsauken. Her front seat passenger, who was from Berlin, also died. Both women were thrown from the car, and police reported that they died at the scene.

This car accident occurred in the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 when a 22-year-old male driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle and hit the female driver's vehicle traveling in the lane next to him. After the impact, the woman's car crashed into the guardrail. State police were investigating the accident at the time of the report, and they had not yet determined what caused the male driver to lose control.

Emergency personnel transported the male driver and his 19-year-old male passenger to Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury with unspecified injuries. A 23-year-old female passenger from the back seat of the woman's car also suffered undisclosed injuries and was hospitalized. There was no immediate information regarding the condition of the three survivors of the wreck.

When a car accident such as this one ends in catastrophic injuries and death, family members of the victims could seek the advice of a personal injury attorney. Regardless if the police investigation reveals a negligent or reckless driver, the family may decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit. An attorney could assist with obtaining accident reports and other investigative documents. They might also help families receive financial compensation for their loss by representing them in a civil court case or negotiations with insurance companies.
