New Jersey officer kills pit bull following alleged attack

An animal attack is a very serious offense. Pet owners in New Jersey have a responsibility for their animals, especially if they are violent. An unprovoked attack can have terrible consequences for the victim. From broken bones to severe bites, an animal attack can put someone in the hospital. Animal bites can even lead to reconstructive surgery if they are vicious enough. Owners are responsible for their animals if they bite or injure someone.

A police officer was allegedly attacked by a pit bull when responding to a complaint in the township of Howell, New Jersey. The officer was responding to a call for a dog bite when the dog attacked him, leading him to shoot the animal three times. The dog died on the way to the hospital. The dog allegedly went after the officer from an open garage door while the officer was in front of the house.

A dog bite is a serious offense for a pet owner. The owner may be responsible for medical expenses if a person is seriously injured. A diseased animal can kill a human if the wound is left untreated. Some of the laws governing dog bites and other offenses can be complex. With proper diligence, a victim of an animal attack can seek compensation for their physical pain and suffering from an animal bite. Sometimes, if an attack happens on a property, a claim can be pursued against the homeowner's insurance policy.

A pet owner is responsible for their pet. If an animal is dangerous, the owner must make sure to take proper precautions to safeguard the public. An owner should make sure a dog is safely secured in a yard or home if they leave their property. Failing to do exercises poor judgment makes them responsible for the damage their animal causes.
