2 men injured in head-on collision on Route 206

According to the New Jersey State Police, a 45-year-old man from Mt. Arlington was listed in serious condition, while a 32-year-old man from Sandyston was listed in stable condition after their two vehicles collided on Dec. 24. Responders took both drivers to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

A police spokesperson stated that the accident occurred around 10:50 a.m. in Frankford on Route 206. The preliminary investigation alleges that the older man drove his car over the double-yellow line and hit the younger man's pickup truck head-on.

A substance believed to be cocaine was found in the older man's car, but charges were pending in the case as authorities awaited lab results on the material as well as toxicology reports on the suspect. According to the reporting officer, the man could be facing vehicular assault charges.

When injuries are suffered in a car accident, a victim may decide to seek compensation for the damages. Such injuries may cause a victim to experience substantial medical expenses, lost wages and rehabilitation costs.

A motor vehicle accident victim might consider seeking the advice of a personal injury attorney who understands the state laws. Regardless of what the outcome is for the suspect who might be facing criminal charges, the injured party could still file a civil action suit. A personal injury attorney could obtain the police reports and represent the crash victim in civil court litigation against the suspected negligent driver.
